Materials we install
Four proven siding materials. We’ll tell you honestly which one fits your house, your budget and your tolerance for upkeep.
Vinyl Siding
The most installed siding in South Jersey. Affordable, wide color range, and it never needs paint. Installation quality decides whether it stays flat and quiet.

Vinyl panels with rigid foam backers. Stiffer feel, fewer waves, a modest bump in wall R-value VERIFY per product.
Insulated options →Fiber Cement
James Hardie plank and panel. Dimensionally stable, holds paint well, and carries strong fire and pest characteristics VERIFY manufacturer claims.
Fiber cement details →Engineered Wood
LP SmartSide: real-wood look in long lengths, lighter to work with, factory-finished. Needs disciplined cut-edge sealing and clearances.
Engineered wood details →What’s behind your siding (and why it matters more than the siding)
Your siding sheds most of the rain, but not all of it. Behind the panels sits a layered system: the framing that holds the house up, the sheathing (the wood panels nailed to the framing), the housewrap (a water-resistive barrier, often called WRB, that blocks water but lets vapor escape), and the flashing (thin metal or membrane that directs water away from windows, doors and roof lines). When a wall rots, it’s almost never the siding’s fault — it’s a missing or wrong detail in one of those hidden layers. That’s why we tear off, photograph, and rebuild the whole system instead of covering it up.

How much does siding replacement cost in South Jersey?
It depends on material, home size, tear-off needs and hidden repairs. We publish current whole-home ranges by material, straight from our price book, on our siding cost page.
Can new siding go over my old siding?
Sometimes it’s allowed, but we usually recommend a full tear-off. Covering old siding hides the sheathing, housewrap and flashing — the layers that actually keep water out. Read the full answer.
How long does a siding replacement take?
Most single-family homes take one to two weeks of on-site work, depending on size, material, weather and what we find behind the old siding. See a typical week.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. Where your town requires a permit, we apply through the construction office, post it on site, and schedule the final inspection. Permit basics for NJ.
What materials do you install?
Vinyl, insulated vinyl, fiber cement (James Hardie) and engineered wood (LP SmartSide), plus soffit, fascia, trim and gutters. Compare materials.
